Dramatic Society

  1. There is a Dramatic Society for the college called K.A. Mahavidyalaya Dramatic Society.
  2. All the students of the college shall be members of this society.
  3. Every student of the college shall pay to the society’s account in the college office a fixed subscription at the time he pays his first installment of college fees to the session.
  4. The Principal of the college shall be Ex-officio, President of the Dramatic Society.
  5. The Affairs of the Society shall be managed by a Committee of management consisting of the following members.
    • The President –Principal (Ex-officio)
    • Two members of the college staff to be nominated by the President.
    • A Secretary and an Assistant Secretary to be elected by all the students of the college from among themselves.
    • Three students from each of the classes , from 1st year Degree to 3rd year classes.
    • Two more students to be nominated by the President at his discretion.
  6. At the beginning of each session election shall be held to the different offices on such date and in such manner as the Principal may determine.
  7. After the elections are over there shall be meeting of the members of the Drama Society. In this meeting the accounts of the previous year shall be received from the outgoing Secretary and the newly elected office bears shall assume office.
  8. The committee shall perform the following duties:
    • To have monthly seminars on
      • Acting
      • stage-craft
      • direction
      • script-writing.
    • The society will present experimental plays every month and there should be minimum of 3 such plays in session.
    • There shall be an annual inter-class one-act play competition and one music competition.
    • The vice-president of the Dramatic society shall have power to draw money from time and allot funds to different members of the committee in proportion to the assignment. This however should decided in the first meeting where the annual budget would be approved.
  9. Neither the Secretary nor the Assistant secretary shall ordinarily be given an actor’s part in the drama to be staged . One of the two shall keep the minutes of the society and other shall be in charge of the account. Either or both of them may be remove form the office.
