RED CROSS

Red Cross Society is organized in the purpose of inculcating in the youths of the country the ideas of peace and practice of service in relation to their own health and that of others.

AIMS:

  • Promotion of Health
  • Service to the sick and the sufferings
  • International friendship
  • Membership of Red Cross is open to all students of the Mahavidyalaya.

SCOUT

In the year 1996, a Rovers Unit consisting of 24 boys came being into K.A. Mahavidyalaya, Rekutia under the Leadership of Prof. B.K. Sahoo, Rover Leader.

AIMS AND OBJECTIVES :

The aim of Scout movement is to develop good citizenship among the youths by developing their character, health and spirit of service. This is accomplished by:

  • Training young men in habits of observation, obedience and self-reliance service
  • Inculcating loyalty and thoughtfulness for others by institution and by giving service to others.
  • Teaching young men services useful to the public and handicrafts useful to themselves.
  • Developing mental and physical powers of the individual through wholesome social contacts and activities.
  • Leading the individual to develop spiritual and social values by example and association.

This is achieved through various interesting activities provided in the programme. The programme is mostly outdoor oriented and aims at making the young men efficient in the outdoors through camping, hiking and other outdoor activities and at the same time trains them to achieve self reliance and self discipline through self-education. It is a programme which provides them an opportunity for self development through the help of adult leaders and through the company of members of their own age group in the Rover Crew. It provide opportunity of learning by doing which is the main method of the movement through good fellowship and sound guidance.
